Who is Gunnar Myrdal from The Mismeasure of Man and what is their importance?

Myrdal is a Swedish sociologist who wrote the book An American Dilemma in which he examines the biological arguments. He claims that the Americans and others accepted the biological arguments and wouldn't consider the social factors unless they were forced to. The facts pretty much supported his contention.
