The Merry Wives of Windsor is a farce. The main conflict can be found in Mistress Page and Mistress Ford's belief that a woman can be both merry and faithful at the same time. Mr. Page understands their belief, but Mr. Ford has doubts. Thus, the wives set out to fool Falstaff and cure Ford of his jealousy.
