Where the author does include a lot of detail is in his scenes. His language is relatively simple, but the details that he uses in his descriptions make it very easy for the reader to "see" the scene unfolding in perfect precision. The author uses many adjectives and adverbs when describing most of the activity; from time to time this is distracting for the reader.
