What is the Griever's Hole in the novel, The Maze Runner?

The Griever's Hole is an invisible escape hatch that is invisible and virtually suspended in mid-air. The Grievers leap off the Cliff and seem to disappear; but, they had actually slid into the Griever’s Hole to go to parts unknown.
