Unlike other great leaders such as Wellington, Alexander chose to be showy in his presentation. When the enemy saw Alexander, he wanted to be recognized immediately. This was even more ostentatious when Alexander appeared in battle astride the great and legendary Bucephalas. This reveals more about Alexander's personality and sense of self, as well as his fearlessness.
