Do you think the future Dimaline envisions is possible? Why or why not?

This story is a dystopia meaning the world has irrevocable changed after a catastrophe. In this case, the environment has been nearly destroyed. This of course is quite conceivable and many argue it is happening now. I think the whole bone marrow and dreams sub-plot is fantasy fiction.
