Prufrock is a variation on a dramatic monologue, but has a number of additional 'quirks'. He mixes and matches rhyme schemes, then abandons them all together. It is this mishmash of techniques that present a very real picture of the character and gives him a depth that might otherwise have been loss. The sing song quality in some of the lines, melodic to be sure, bring back the feel of childhood chants. He also uses music, specifically, in a couple of places when he describes women.
