In Chapter Forty-seven, Listen asked Dr. Rivas where Mbongeni had gone, and he told her. Listen became very upset because the Dr. Rivas had promised not to hurt the baby. He then told her how lucky she was because Glass Eye didn’t want her for parts. Glass Eye wanted Listen to grow up to become his wife. Listen was livid.
