Seasons are a motif throughout the book. The White Witch imposes an eternal winter on Narnia. Nothing grows or is regenerated: it is the death of spring and renewal. The witch's spell is broken when Aslan returns to Narnia. Aslan brings with him the season of spring and renewal.
