When Pete was released from the hospital and moved in with Charlie and Mary, the workload was overwhelming. Mary, for the most part, was terrible at helping out, but would sometimes feed her father. Pete had a terrible appetite until one day when Mary fed him shrimp gumbo. Pete ate heartily until Mary realized that he wasn't chewing the shrimp but was storing them in his cheek. When Mary tried to clear the shrimp away from his mouth, Pete bit her hard on the finger. Mary quit feeding her father then, and a nurse found the shrimp, still tucked away in his mouth, the next morning.
