Who was Ichabod Crane?

Ichabod Crane is the protagonist in the story, The legend of Sleepy Hollow. He is a school teacher, whi is described as lanky, sharp-featured, awkward and somewhat clumsy. He is also seen to be more educated and sophisticated than the native villagers. Ichabod in in love with Katrina.
