Timothy Tobias Collier from The Last Silk Dress is a sketch artist who is drawing pictures of various battles and battlefield scenes for Harpers Weekly Magazine. He meets Susan and they are drawn to one another instantly. She asks for his help when she makes the decision to turn over the hot air balloon she's made over to the Union soldiers.
