Who is The Noble Damsel from The Lais of Marie de France and what is their importance?

The Noble Damsel appears in Milun. She is the young girl who loves Milun and gives birth to a child with him. After Milun leaves, she unwillingly marries another man. When her husband dies, she is able to reunite with MIlun.
