A nation questions itself during certain periods of its existence, though most notably when it is going through times of growth. Those times can be compared to the time of adolescence, when a child realizes that he is unique and his personality will never be duplicated. This realization causes him to question everything he knows, most notably himself. A nation's questioning process follows much the same path. Just as the child who is growing up, that is necessary to understand the future. A nation cannot move into the future well, unless it questions itself and its history. When that happens, no matter how difficult it may be, the nation is fully prepared to move into its next stage of life.
