Why does Caldonia insist that Moses begin coming to the house to give her nightly reports on the activities of the plantation?

Caldonia learns that Moses has punished Stamford and Clement without speaking to her first and she is bothered by this. Caldonia insists that Moses begin giving her nightly reports on the activities of the plantation so that she might be involved in all decisions made in regards to the slaves.
