What is Caldonia's twin brother, Calvin's, opinion on the slaves? Why?

Calvin believes that his sister, Caldonia, should free the slaves left her by her husband's death. Calvin does not believe in slave ownership and would sell his own slaves if he could convince his mother that it was for the best. Unfortunately, Calvin's mother believes the slaves are Calvin's legacy and he cannot sell his legacy.
