What is significant about the arrival of a Berg in the settlement in Chapter 3?

Mark, Trina, Alec, Lana, and the others see a Berg, an airship unseen since the sun flares. Bergs bring supplies to larger settlements, so it perplexes everyone why the airship is over their muddy little village. Bergs bring supplies to Asheville, and then share them with outlying settlements. That it lands outside the village adds to the mystery.
