How is Baxter's death described in the flashback in Chapter 46?

Baxter wakes Mark up one night. A boat is driving down Broadway. Lana and Trina have spotted it from the fifth floor, so Mark goes down. The boat lands, and the people on board – a man with a scruffy beard, and a woman with a shaved head –demand to see everyone inside the building put their hands up. When some don’t, the man shoots Baxter, and demands again.
