How does Alec confront the pilots once he enters the cockpit of the Berg in Chapter 7?

Alex demands to know what is going on. The man he holds tells Alec that they have been sent to do the dirty work. Alec demands to know who, but the man won’t tell him. Alec demands the Berg be put down, and the man tells the female pilot to do so. It happens to fast that something hits Mark in the head after the sound of an explosion, knocking him out.
