Describe Mark's battle with the male pilot in Chapter 42. How does Mark overcome the pilot?

The male pilot tells Mark he is going to die, and punches Mark in the jaw twice. Mark feels rage building in him, and then he grapples with the pilot, gains the upper hand, and pushes the pilot halfway off the ramp, intending to crush him as the ramp seals shut. He then thinks better of what he is doing as the pilot is killed. He uses his feet to kick the pilot through the door.
