Ironically, their illusion works because millions of tourists are drawn to Italy every year, many of them forsaking their own homes to stay in their newfound home. People of all cultures and nations have developed coping mechanisms to endure fear and hardship, and it is hard to believe that such machinations are required in such a glorious place.
