What is the difference between the effects of Catholic school on Sai and Noni in the novel, The Inheritance of Loss?

Attending Catholic schools had a different effect on each of the girls. Sai feels more Westernized and more liberated because of her education, whereas, Noni's spirit was crushed... her heritage lost.
