Lady Bracknell requires that a suitor have a hobby so as not to be often idle. She insists that he have both a house in the country and in a fashionable section of London. She requires a reasonable level of ignorance, for she believe an over-abundance of ideas can lead to revolution. An suitor must be able to present his relations, as well, so that Lady Bracknell will know the alliance being formed by the marriage.
