Who is Maria Bodoni from The Illustrated Man and what is their importance?

Maria Bodoni is married to Fiorello. She refuses a trip to Mars, not wanting to be resented by her family for having the privilege. When Fiorello informs his family that he's taking them all to Mars, Maria thinks he has gone crazy and is going to kill them all. Because she lacks faith in her husband, she loses out on the illusion of a rocket trip to Mars. She does, however, come to appreciate her husband's grand illusion and what he does for their children. Maria appears in The Rocket.
