Who is Steven Alacran from The House of the Scorpion?

Steven is Mr. Alcran and Felicia's second oldest son. He is the one who discovers Matt, and unlike the others in his family, he is not cruel to him. Over the course of the novel, Steven marries Senator Mendoza's daughter, Emilia. He is killed when he drinks the poisoned wine at El Patron's funeral.
