Explain in your own words how Bilbo and the dwarves felt about being in the forest.

This is from the book 'The Hobbit' just at the starting when Bilbo and the dwarves just set out into the forest and sleep in the tunnel.I want a proper answer with correct grammar

They didn't like the forest. It was a place of darkness and shadows even in the daylight. The forest could hide all manner of wraiths and spies that could ruin them.
