What is the main conflict in Tom Jones by Henry Fielding?

The novel's main conflict is the inability of Tom to marry Sophia because of their difference in class. Tom is exposed as a bastard child.... a foundling. In Sophia's father's eyes, Tom is not an acceptable match for his daughter.
