Who is Constantine from The Help and what is their importance?

Constantine is the Phelans' housekeeper and nanny. She has worked for the family for 29 years. Constantine raised Skeeter and taught her to be an objective and fair person, who would not tolerate racism. Constantine is eventually fired by Mrs. Phelan because she has a biracial child.
