Henry Pleasant was a soldier in the Union Army. He met Caudell at a railroad station, and the two men went on to become friends. When Henry lost his job with the railroad, he moved to Nash County, where he bought a farm. Pleasant helped the Castalia Invincibles capture the AWB men.
