Why is Raju able to separate himself from the truth when dealing with others?

Raju is able to separate himself from the truth when dealing with others because he believes that when he's filling a role, he simply must give the people what they want. Often, this will lead him away from the truth but he doesn't see this as a problem as long as he is pleasing the customers, villagers, etc.
