Why did Raju say he didn't grow up like other normal people?

Raju said he didn't grow up like other normal people because he had a compulsory need to please others. Raju's ability to know what others need almost before they need it caused him to live a life of taking care of others even at a cost to himself. He said that if he didn't have this skill, he may have grown up without all of the worries.
