Why did Raju have a hard time emotionally with not being able to please Rosie constantly?

Raju was hurt emotionally when he could not please Rosie constantly because he was used to being able to be the perfect guide and please everyone. When his guide skills did not work on Rosie, he was cut to the core. His ability to be replaced and not be able to satisfy her hurt him more than the heartbreak.
