Once Rosie changed to Nalini, Raju's view of her changed. Raju cared about Rosie and wanted to promote her career, but more than anything, he wanted to establish a name for himself. He changed Rosie to Nalini and tried to line up as many jobs for her as possible to gain his own notoriety. What originally began as an honest attempt to help Rosie discover her passion turned into a self-centered plan for self-promotion with Rosie as the meal ticket and instead of the object of Raju's devotion she became a prop in his scheme.
