Why does Daru find the idea of taking the Arab to the government officials in Tinguit to be contrary to his sense of honor and humiliating?

Daru does not think the French military belongs in Algeria. He does not agree that French law, although more lenient than Arab law, should judge the prisoner. He feels humiliated to deliver the prisoner to Tinguit.
