Who gets Wharton under control when he is choking Dean?

Brutal had just finished moving the last of the infirmary equipment, and he came to the Mile to see who wanted coffee. When he sees Wharton choking Dean, he shoves Percy aside, pulls his baton out of its loop, and brings it down on the back of Wharton’s head. Wharton went down, and Dean crawled away.
