The Great Gatsby
In The Great Gatsby, what is the setting like in Chapter Two?
?
?
The first section of Chapter Two is set in the Valley of Ashes, a desolate place where people are barely getting by. The second section takes place in the apartment that Tom Buchanan keeps for his mistress Myrtle Wilson. The apartment was small, overcrowded with large furniture, and a place where Tom could throw off the allusion of wealth and class. His actions there were anything but classy.
