Describe symbolism in The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck

One important symbol in the novel, The Good Earth, is that of foot binding. To the Chinese, foot binding was a symbol of wealth and beauty. Buck, however, portrays foot binding as a symbol moral corruption.
