When Wang Lung brings Lotus in the house, who starts fighting?
Wang Lung is initially certain that his wife, Olan, and his mistress will be the sources of great conflict in his home. He is, however, wrong. O'lan ignores Lotus' presence, and instead, fights with Cuckoo, who she cannot stand. Wang Lung has forgotten that his wife once slaved in the great house where Cuckoo was a treasured concubine.
