Why does Anna feel disillusioned despite all of the interest in her novel in The Golden Notebook?

Anna feels disillusioned despite all of the interest in her novel because she feels these companies are trying to turn it into something it is not. She feels strongly about the racial theme in her novel, and the companies do not.
