What happens when Lizzy finds Lem after dark?

When Lizzy finds Lem, she tries to wash some of his wounds and give him some water. As she is doing this, Mister Joe starts whipping her and accusing her of trying to free Lem. All of the sudden, Joshua jumps out of the trees and wrestles Mister Joe to the ground.
