How does the author use foreshadowing in The Glass Room?

In Part I, we learn that although the characters transform and change, the Glass Room remains the same..... a stage for people to play out their lives on. The Room doesn't takes sides..... it merely provides a backdrop, foreshadowing the future uses of the Landauer House.
