What is the difference between loss and release?

Loss is when someone is taken away accidently.... a child falling in a river. According to Jonas, release is someone being sent to Elsewhere, a seemingly happy place that is celebrated. What Jonas doesn't realize (yet) is that release is merely a form of euthanasia.
