For the giver, what happens in the last two chapters, and how does the novel end?

Jonas and Gabe are on the run. The weather is cold and it begins to snow. Upon reaching the summit of the hill Jonas found the sled that was waiting for them. Seating himself and Gabe they started down the hill. Faster and faster he went, with certainty that whoever was at the bottom was waiting with open arms for him and the baby. For the first time he thought he heard music, but maybe it was just an echo.
