Who is Sharaud from The Freedom Writers Diary and what is their importance?

Sharaud was inadvertently responsible for Gruwell's Holocaust project. In her first year teaching, another student drew a caricature of Sharaud that was insulting an unbecoming. Gruwell commented that the picture was similar to Nazi propaganda, and seeing the students had no idea what she was talking about.... the project began.
