Who is Miep Gies?

Miep Gies is the woman responsible for keeping Anne Frank alive in the attic. She hid the Frank family from the Nazi soldiers and later found Anne's diary. When Anne was captured, she tried to bribe the officers to let her friends go, but the officers threatened to kill her.
