What is the theme in The Forgotten by Elie Wiesel?

One major theme in the novel, The Forgotten, is loss. This theme is illustrated through London's loss of memory, as well as her brother; her mother's loss of a son, as well as the daughter who's lost a large part of her past; and London's estrangement from her father.
