What does Ven hear on his first night at the Inn?

Ven has a difficult and scary first night. At first the wind is nothing he hasn't heard before - rattling the shutters and gusting through the trees - however as the night continues the wind grows in intensity and until the howls sound angry and the cries sound like human cries.
