What does the boy that appears from the mist tell Ven?

Ven and Char see the form of a young boy their age solidify from the mist. The new boy explains that Ven hasn't had to grow up. The form tells the boys to lay down as the wolves approach, and as the rain starts, he tells Ven the rain may improve his sight. He then admits he is Gregory Snodgrass, the deceased son of Oliver and Trudy.
