Mr. Preek responds to Miss Prawn's letter (the Fledgling) by sending another letter right back telling her that her suppositions could not possibly be true. In fact, he believes that the girl has been attacked and targeted by a lone goose and that he, Mr. Preek, is going to be a hero and save them all from this killer goose.
