How is Sofia's first day of high school?

Sofia meets a girl in her homeroom when they are standing in line to get their schedules. They eat lunch together with her three friends. At lunch, no one asks Sofia about her family or asks her about her religion. They ask which boys she thinks are cute and which classes she likes. They eat part of their lunches. In the bathroom, they hitch their skirts up another half-inch. However, Sofia aches for Antonia.
